Professor of economics at Paris Nanterre University, Scientific Advisor at CEPII (resaerch and expertise of the world economy) and Resarch Fellow at the Chair Demoraphic Transition, Economic Transition. He obtained his PhD in economics
at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University in 1997. From 1998 to 2012, he was professor of economics successively at Lille 1 Unversity and Evry-Val-d’Essonne University. He was also Scientific Advisor at the French Prime Minister’s Council of Economic Analysis (CAE) from 2007 to 2010 befor joining the CEPII.

His research focuses on the long-term dynamics of economies (economic growth) and structural policies. In addition to his work on sustainable growth, he is particularly interested in two other topics related to long-term structural change: demographic ageing and international migration.

His papers on sustainable growth are mostly theoretical. His work on the financing of social protection in the face of demographic ageing and on international migration is the subject of applied work based on the development and simulation of dynamic computable general equilibrium models.
