Who we are

The Rencontres Économiques - Aix en Seine

Since 2001, the Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence have been a unique moment of collective intelligence expressed through stimulating debates.

Each year, a theme, often a forerunner, is chosen and developed in a programme of 50 sessions and debates with more than 300 speakers: academics, politicians, representatives of international institutions and business leaders from around the world.

The aim is not only to decipher current news and enable everyone to understand what is at stake, but also to draw up innovative perspectives for the future.

Open to all and free of charge, the Rencontres Économiques are innovating this year and become Aix en Seine: a 100% online and live event from the Maison de la Radio, allowing most people to follow the debates and interact with the speakers.

The Cercle des économistes

The Cercle des économistes is a think tank founded in 1992 on the initiative of Jean-Hervé Lorenzi. It brings together thirty economists with both academic responsabilities and a broad professional experience in the private or the public sector.

The Cercle aims at creating an economic debate open to all.  Members are renowed experts with varied fields of interest and disctinct approaches, allowing the Cercle to cover most of the major topics in Economics and ensuring the depth and breadth of the debate.

Several annual events are organised by the association including Les Rencontres Économiques d’Aix-en-Provence, a major economic Forum in Europe. It is also taking part in the public debate by publishing several books and by its weekly interventions in the media.
