Bio
Alexandre Défossez is an artificial intelligence researcher, Chief Science Officer at Gradium, and a founding member of Kyutai. A specialist in multimodal models and generative AI, he previously worked as a researcher at FAIR Paris, Meta's AI research lab, where he led work on music generation and co-led the development of AudioCraft, an open-source suite of models dedicated to audio generation. With a PhD in mathematics from the École normale supérieure and a Master’s in Mathematics, Vision, and Learning (MVA) from École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay, Alexandre Défossez has authored numerous scientific publications in machine learning, signal processing, and audio AI. At Kyutai, his research focuses especially on multimodal models, voice AI, and next-generation AI systems.
