Alain Trannoy, currently Director of Studies at EHESS and Professor at the Aix-Marseille School of Economics, has extensive expertise in several economic fields. As scientific advisor to France Stratégie, he has actively contributed to strategic thinking on public policy. His rich career has been marked by prestigious positions such as President of AFSE and Director of AMSE. He has also sat on the Conseil d'Analyse Économique (CAE) and the Conseil Économique du Développement Durable (CEDD). Professor Trannoy holds an agrégation des Facultés d'Économie and a doctorat d'État en Économie, and has published numerous books and articles on a wide range of subjects, including the economics of inequality, equality of opportunity, taxation, the economics of housing, the economics of higher education, voting, and public economics. His recent publications include the book "Le grand retour de la terre dans les patrimoines" (The great return of land to wealth) in collaboration with Étienne Wasmer, which explores the importance of land in wealth and was awarded a prize by the AFSE, and whose underlying scientific article won him the Maurice Allais 2023 prize. Alain Trannoy is a Knight of the French National Order of Merit. His academic career and his involvement in consultancy organizations make him a key player in the analysis of public policy, the social economy and social justice in France.
