Bio

Sobel Aziz Ngom is the Co-founder and Executive Director of the Consortium Jeunesse Sénégal (CJS), an alliance of youth organizations developing innovative solutions to learning, professional insertion and inclusion challenges in Senegal.

He graduated in Communication (SupdeCo Business School - Dakar), and in Civic Leadership (Wagner College - New York).

He then worked for Ashoka Changemakers, where he managed the Africa Hub, charged with guiding and assisting over 2,000 young Africans to carry out missions of social entrepreneurship.

In 2014, at age 23, Sobel A. Ngom was the youngest Senegalese participant in the first YALI program launched by President Obama. The same year, he founded the Social Change Factory (SCF), an African innovation and citizen leadership center. There, he developed TV programs, a board game and a community program that contributed to the skills and leadership building of thousands of young people. He led SCF for 6 years before leaving to found CJS.

Sobel sits on the Directors Board of Generation Unlimited, a UN global partnership for youth, bringing together some of the world's most committed youth empowerment leaders and organizations. He is the only young African leader on the panel.

Through his experience, he advised and collaborated with African governments (Senegal, Djibouti, Chad, Côte d'Ivoire), as well as with international foundations, UN agencies and corporations, like the European Union, the AfDB, UNICEF and the Mastercard Foundation on their youth engagement and partnership strategies.
