Professor of economics at Paris Nanterre University, Scientific Advisor at CEPII (resaerch and expertise of the world economy) and Resarch Fellow at the Chair Demoraphic Transition, Economic Transition. He obtained his PhD in economics at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University in 1997. From 1998 to 2012, he was professor of economics successively at Lille 1 Unversity and Evry-Val-d’Essonne University. He was also Scientific Advisor at the French Prime Minister’s Council of Economic Analysis (CAE) from 2007 to 2010 befor joining the CEPII. His research interests include long term growth dynamics and structural policies. He is particularly interested in sustainable growth (promote economic growth while paying due regard to environmental protection). His articles on the subject are mainly theoretical. His latest publication on this subject is a cepii policy brief on the energy implications for Europe of the war in Ukraine (here). His two others research interests (on the topic of structural changes) are demographic ageing and international migrations. They have been the subject of more applied research works, based on dynamic applied general equilibrium models (fiscal impacts of immigration) and applied econometrics (derterminants of the international mobility of students).
