Markets and Investment: can they get married?

Debate 4

Originally, investments were mostly funded by banks. Today, financial markets have taken over: this is called disintermediation. NICTs, accounting rules (IAS), prudential standards (Basel III, Solvency III) have accelerated the trend. But the crisis and the currently low growth have brought about an environment of distrust between the real economy and markets. How to avoid systemic risks without generating a “rent economy”? How to create conditions conducive to a sustainable association based on the sharing of risks ant wealth creation.
