Can School teach the World ?

Session 5

Is education a public good? Is it a collective investment for the future? How can the State spend less and better in education?

Is apprenticeship more efficient than initial training followed by a first job? Are Piza rankings an adequate tool? Are these questions relevant in emerging countries?

How can the current popularity of Moocs (Massive Open Online Course) be interpreted when they do introduce a form of democracy and give access to university training to isolated student including those in emerging countries, but at the same time tend to standardize educational resources?
