The Need for Shared Prosperity

Session 13

The economic catching-up of emerging countries should allow entire populations to rise out of poverty while posing formidable challenges in terms of education and the distribution of wealth. On the other hand, advanced economies are more and more concerned by what happens in the rest of the world: management of global public assets (land, water, forests, etc), and working conditions.

This convergence is a potential source of conflicts: the sharing of natural resources has already become a central issue. What solutions could be considered?

What new actors could contribute to a shared prosperity?
