Yann Algan currently holds the position of Associate Dean of Pre-Experience Programs and is also a professor of economics at HEC. He is a member of the Economic Analysis Council. His research focuses on trust and well-being within organizations and societies, as well as on the evaluation of public policies, particularly in the fields of education, employment and management policies.
Yann Algan is a member of the OECD’s High Level Expert Group (HLEG) responsible for measuring well-being and co-director of the Cepremap Observatory of Wellbeing. He is also a member of the Institut Universitaire de France and serves as Senior Editor at the journal Economic Policy.
In 2009, he was awarded the Prize for the best young French economist. His books on trust and French society have received several awards, including the best essay (LIRE) in 2007 and the best book of economics in 2008 for "La société de défiance" (Éditions rue d'Ulm). In addition, his research was awarded the high school prize for best economics book in 2012 and 2018 for "La fabrique de la défiance" and "Les Français, le Bonheur et l'Argent".
