Bio
Xavier Jaravel is a professor at the London School of Economics and one of the most influential economists of his generation. Indeed, he was ranked in 2024 as the most cited academic researcher in the world (IDEAS/RePEc). Former winner of the Best Young Economist Award in 2021 and the Economics Book Prize in 2023, Xavier Jaravel is now president of the Economic Analysis Council. His research focuses on innovation, inflation and its effects, international trade, as well as applied econometrics. He is the author of the books Marie Curie lives in Morbihan. Democratizing innovation (2023) and Economic policies: from analysis to action (to be published in September 2026).
