
Tidhar Thédore WALD
Bio
Tidhar Wald is Director of Government Affairs and Partnership at the International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM). In this role he leads the diplomatic relations of IFPIM with global organizations (G20, G7), Regional Bodies (EU, AU) and national governments. He also oversees the International Fund resource mobilization team, working with bilateral donors, foundations and private sector companies. In addition, Tidhar is a lecturer of geopolitics at the Albert Business School in Paris. Prior to IFPIM, Tidhar served as the Managing Director of the Better Than Cash Alliance, a UN global initiative of 90 governments, companies and International Organizations committed to shifting from cash to digital payments to increase transparency and make economies digital and inclusive. Tidhar was a founding team member of the Better Than Cash Alliance and served respectively as its Head of Government Relations and Public Policy and Deputy Managing Director. In his roles he was closely advising governments and Fortune 500 companies on their digital inclusion strategies in low- and middle-income countries. Tidhar represented the organization at the G20 under both the G20 Partnership for Financial Inclusion and the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group, and as a delegate to the B20. He was a member of the advisory group of the United Nations Secretary General Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, a Board Member of the ILO Center for Digital Wages for Decent Work, and sat on the Accelerator Advisory Panel of the Consumer International Digital finance work. Prior to the UN, Tidhar held roles in multilateral affairs and governments relations including at Oxfam International and the OECD. He holds a master’s degree in public policy and international affairs from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor’s in political sciences and history from Paris Sorbonne University. He also completed executive trainings at Oxford University, MIT, Harvard University and the UN Staff College.
