Bio

Chair of the Association Europe-Finances-Régulations (AEFR), a member of the ECB’s Audit Committee and Ethics Committee, the AMF’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Committee, and the Board of Directors of the Fondation Jean Jaurès.

A Member of the European Parliament from 1994 to 2019, she served as Chair of the French Socialist Delegation, Chair of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (2004–2009) and Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (2009–2014). She was a member of the Convention responsible for drafting the Charter of Fundamental Rights (2000) and of the Convention tasked with drawing up a draft European Constitution (2002–2003), and rapporteur for the Special Committee on the Financial, Economic and Social Crisis (2010–2011).

As an administrator of the National Assembly, she served as an adviser on international and European affairs in the office of the President of the National Assembly from 1988 to 1992. She was also a councilor in Sèvres from 2001 to 2008.
