Bio
Jean Viard is a sociologist and Associate Director of Research at CEVIPOF-CNRS (Sciences Po's political research center). He holds a post-graduate diploma in economics (Aix-en-Provence) and a doctorate in sociology from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, and specializes in social time (vacations, 35-hour week), space (planning, agricultural issues) and politics. A frequent lecturer and contributor to the print and broadcast media, he also works as a consultant to companies and local authorities. Every weekend, he presents the “Question de société” program on France Info. He runs a collection at Éditions de l'Aube in La Tour-d'Aigues (Vaucluse), which he founded with Marion Hennebert.
