Grégoire de Saint Quentin’s long and illustrious military career led him to become a key figure of the French Army Special Forces Command. Grégoire was commissioned in 1984 as a distinguished graduate of the Officer program at the “École spéciale militaire de Saint Cyr”. He spent 39 years in the military, leading a variety of joint task forces in theaters such as Iraq, Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Mali.

Grégoire commanded the 1 st Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment from 2004 to 2006. After attending the High Defense and Military Graduate schools, Grégoire become the Head of the joint staff operational planning team (J5) in 2009.

Appointed general in 2011 Grégoire de Saint Quentin took over Operation Serval’s operational command in Mali when it was launched. On August 1 2013 he was appointed Commander of Special Operations and promoted to Major General the following year. He then held the position of Chief of Joint Operations from 2016 to 2020 and was promoted to the rank and title of Lieutenant General. He became Military Advisor to the Government in June 2020 and was promoted to the rank and designation of Army General. He joins Preligens in the fall of 2020.
