Gilles Bénéplanc joined the Adelaïde Group in January 2020 as Chief Executive Officer of Adelaïde and Verlingue, then became Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Adelaïde in 2024. The Adelaïde Group specializes in insurance advisory, intermediation, distribution, and services. Adelaïde is one of France’s leading insurance brokers through three companies: Verlingue, Génération, and Cocoon. In 2013, Gilles Bénéplanc served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of operations in France at Gras Savoye, then from 2016 as Chief Executive Officer in charge of Gras Savoye’s and Willis Towers Watson’s operations in France. Gilles Bénéplanc joined Mercer at the end of 2000. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Mercer France in 2003, then Chairman in 2006. In 2008, he became Head of the Europe/Middle East/Africa region, and in September 2012, Global President of the Retirement business. The first part of his professional career was spent within the AXA Group, where he held various responsibilities, notably in the fields of large corporate risks and international risks. At 67, Gilles Bénéplanc has spent his entire career in the insurance, social protection, and risk sector. A civil engineer from the École des Mines de Paris, an associate member of the French Institute of Actuaries, and a PhD in Economics from the University of Toulouse, he taught at Paris-Dauphine University as part of the Master 218 program until 2021 and currently teaches at CNAM. He sits on the Editorial Committee of the economics journal Risques, and has published Risk Management in Turbulent Times, co-authored with Jean-Charles Rochet in 2011, and Le Manuel d’Assurance, co-authored with Arthur Charpentier and Patrick Thourot in 2022 and reissued in 2024.
