Aligning Training with the Future of Work

Session 43 Amphi 3 July 4, 2026 10:00 - 11:00

Overview

Digital and ecological transitions are rapidly transforming professions. New green technologies, AI and task automation are redistributing work cards at an unprecedented speed: 27% of jobs in France are at risk of automation. At the same time, recruitment tensions persist in France, a sign of a mismatch between available skills and companies' needs. OECD research shows that skills mismatches have a negative impact on productivity and employment, and that the most effective training systems are those that anticipate needs and direct people towards quality, certified training.

In France, despite high spending, evaluations highlight heterogeneous effects, especially for the less qualified, who are nevertheless the least committed to continuing education. How can we better anticipate skills needs in the medium term? What role for companies and social partners in skills governance?
