Bio


Kiril Petkov is a Bulgarian politician, entrepreneur, and co-founder of We Continue the Change, one of Bulgaria’s leading political parties. He served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria from December 13, 2021, to August 2, 2022. Prior to that, during the first caretaker cabinet appointed by President Rumen Radev, from May 12, 2021, to September 15, 2021, he held the position of Minister of Economy. In 2018, Petkov founded the Center for Applied Research and Innovation in the Natural Sciences (CASI) at the Faculty of Biology of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. He is also among the founders of the Center for Economic Strategies and Competitiveness at Sofia University, affiliated with Harvard University, where he taught economic development and microeconomics of competitiveness. Petkov has extensive experience as an entrepreneur and has developed projects in the field of high value-added innovation, including businesses focused on probiotics and biotechnology. He graduated in finance from University of British Columbia in Vancouver and earned an MBA from Harvard University, where he graduated in the top 10% of his class.
