Bio
Maxime Menuet is a professor at the Côte d'Azur University and a member of GREDEG. He is co-director of the European Research Group in Money, Banking and Finance and acts as scientific advisor for the Rendez-vous de l'Histoire de Blois.
He holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Orléans (2018). His work explores the dynamics of public debt, fiscal sustainability and related social and political conflicts, integrating both beliefs and economic imaginaries in the analysis of public policies.
Maxime Menuet also leads an interdisciplinary reflection on the historical and symbolic foundations of contemporary economics, at the crossroads of economics, philosophy, and social sciences. His next book, L'homme à l'épreuve du capitalisme. Archéologie du mal-être contemporain, will be published in 2026 by Éditions du Cerf.
