Claudia COSTIN

Director - Center for Innovation and Excellence in Education Policy

Claudia Costin is the Founder and Director of the Center for Innovation and Excellence in Education Policy (CEIPE). The CEIPE is a think & do-tank created in conjunction with the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro, where she is also a Professor. Claudia is also a Visiting Professor of the Harvard School of Education and a member of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Global Commission.

Prior to founding the CEIPE, she was a Senior Director for Global Education at the World Bank. Prior to that, Claudia served as Secretary of Education for the municipality of Rio de Janeiro and her stewardship, learning results rose by 22 percent in the city. She has also held academic positions at the Catholic University of São Paulo, Getulio Vargas Foundation in Sao Paulo, INSPER Institute of Education and Research and École Nationale d’Administration Publique in Québec.
