Bio


Katarina Kresal is a recognized legal expert in corporate and commercial law, as well as a strategic adviser with proven leadership in the private and public sectors. She focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions and international transactions. She is also an internationally renowned professional in the field of alternative dispute resolution.
 
As Managing Partner of Senica & Partners, a member firm of Andersen Global operating in Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Kosovo, she has successfully developed and led a multi-jurisdictional practice combining legal expertise, advisory services and innovative business management.
 
Within Andersen Global, she leads the Western Balkans region, co-coordinates the Central and Eastern Europe sub-region, and serves on the European Board and the Global Board.
 
Her broad expertise and practice areas include, in particular, commercial and corporate law, combined with in-depth knowledge of corporate structures and procedures gained as general legal counsel and a member of the senior management team of an international company, as a member of numerous supervisory boards of domestic and international companies, and as the founder and president of the European Centre for Dispute Resolution. This previous experience gives her a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the commercial dimension of projects, which in turn enables her to provide clients with first-class advice when closing complex transactions.
 
Since 2017, Katarina has been the Slovenian member of the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network (MWMN) in Rome, and an arbitrator with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.
 
Ms. Kresal’s leadership in the public sector has been equally significant. As Slovenia’s Minister of the Interior and Acting Prime Minister, she led major institutional reforms, modernized legislation and carried out the organizational transformation of several ministries. These roles strengthened her expertise in governance, regulation and international cooperation.
