A senior government official, an engineer by training, and a graduate of the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Gaëlle Berthaud has dedicated nearly thirty years of her career to public service and regional transitions. As Director General of the Calanques National Park since 2022, she leads a public institution that epitomizes the challenges of biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, and balancing competing land uses. Previously, she held leadership positions at Cerema Méditerranée, the Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse Water Agency, and within the government in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Her career has enabled her to develop recognized expertise in the fields of land-use planning, climate change adaptation, water management, and the implementation of complex public policies. Accustomed to facilitating dialogue among public officials, business leaders, and citizens, she brings a pragmatic and collaborative vision to environmental transitions. Actively engaged in discussions on new development models, she has also participated in the leadership program of the Business Convention for Climate.
