
Bio
Carlos Álvarez Pereira is Secretary General of the Club of Rome since 2024 and a member of the Advisory Board of the UNESCO Chair on Global Understanding for Sustainability. A Spanish aerospace engineer and systems thinker, he brings over 30 years of experience in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and previously served as Vice-President of the Club of Rome.
His work focuses on systemic and transdisciplinary approaches to equitable human wellbeing within a healthy planet. He has taught applied mathematics at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, founded several technology consultancies, and established the Innaxis Foundation & Research Institute, with a focus on complex systems and data science.
