Valeria Moy General Director, IMCO Valeria Moy is the General Director of IMCO (Mexican Institute for Competitiveness), a think-tank focused on economic and social phenomena. IMCO´s research topics are focused on competitiveness indexes, energy, trade, women participation in the economy and education. She is an economist from ITAM and holds a master’s degree by the London School of Economics. Academically, she has been teaching macroeconomics at ITAM since 2001. She was a senior researcher for Harvard Business School and previously headed a think tank focused on economic variables. Currently she is an op-ed weekly writer at El Universal and El País, two of the major newspapers in Mexico and Latin America and is a recurrent analyst on different media outlets. She is an independent board member of BBVA, the largest bank in Mexico and participates in all the boards of the financial group. As well, she participates in the Advisory Board of Laureate Education Group, owner of a large group of universities in Mexico and Perú. She is the economic anchor for the radio show Así las Cosas con Loret in W radio where she analyses daily the economic agenda. Her weekly podcast, Peras y Manzanas, in which she talks about economic issues in a simple way is one of the most listened podcasts in the country. Forbes has named her one of the 100 more powerful women in Mexico, and she is considered one of the 300 Leaders.
