Bio

At 16, Frédéric Souillot earned his diploma as a pastry chef, confectioner, chocolatier, and ice cream maker. Employed at Thomson between 1990 and 1994, he was laid off after the company was sold to a Korean firm for a symbolic one franc. He was then hired by Schlumberger, which later became Tokheim, where he was responsible for the maintenance and installation of service stations. He joined the FO (Workers' Force) union and developed the union at Schlumberger, which quickly reached nearly 70% representation. He became secretary of the Beaune local union and was appointed as a union representative to the labor court. He joined the FO Metals Federation in 2008 as federal secretary in charge of the steel and metals industry. In this capacity, he notably negotiated the ArcelorMittal agreement in Florange in 2012. He became a confederate secretary in 2015 following the Tours Congress. He took on responsibility for union training, then in 2018 for legal affairs and organization. From 2018 to 2020, he chaired the AGFPN (National Joint Fund Management Association). He was elected General Secretary of FO in June 2022 at the Rouen Congress and then re-elected General Secretary in April 2026 at the Dijon Congress.
