Biographie


Born on 1 April 1961 in Rueil Malmaison (greater Paris region)
Worked for Renault at Ile Seguin (Billancourt), then at the “Méthode Mécanique Planification” department, where he was elected as workers’ representative in 1984
Elected to the Federal Executive Committee of the Fédération des travailleurs de la métallurgie-CGT (FTM-CGT) at its 33rd Congress in Nanterre in 1990
Elected Secretary General of the Renault Billancourt UFICT-CGT (executive staffs) union in 1992, then Renault Group trade union representative and head of the Renault CGT Coordination in 1997
To date, he remains on the payroll of Renault Guyancourt
He was also the proponent of an agreement on discrimination, which enabled over 800 elected officials to obtain redress
Elected national secretary of the FTM-CGT, at its 37th congress in Nantes in 2004
Elected General Secretary of the FTM-CGT, at its 38th Congress in Lyon in March 2008
Elected to the National Executive Committee of the CGT, at its 50th congress in Toulouse in 2013
Elected General Secretary of the CGT by the National General Council of 3 February 2015
Re-elected General Secretary of the CGT, at its 51st Congress in Marseille on 22 April 2016
Re-elected General Secretary of the CGT, at its 52nd Congress in Dijon on 17 May 2019
