Bernard GAINNIER

Chairman - PwC France and Francophone Africa

Bernard Gainnier became Chairman & Territory Senior Partner of PwC France and Francophone Africa in July 2013. He was elected for a second four-year term starting on July 1st 2017.

Bernard Gainnier began his career with PwC in 1985 in Paris. After moving to Marseille in 1990, he was made partner in 1995. In 1997 he moved to Shanghai and worked with international companies like Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Danone, L’Oréal, and Novartis, among others. Three years later, he relocated to San Jose (California, USA), where he became specialized in the technology sector.

He returned to Paris in 2001 to advise telecommunications, technology and software companies and took on the responsibility for this sector for PwC France. His main clients included France Telecom, Accor, Kodak, Ingenico and Groupe Lucien Barrière.

Bernard Gainnier became a member of the Executive Committee of PwC France in 2007, leading the SME business development functions, marketing & communication, and our organization by activity sector.

He holds a Masters degree in law and tax from Aix-Marseille University, and has completed post-graduate studies in business law as well as in internal audit. He is qualified as French “Commissaire aux Comptes” and holds a US CPA degree.
