Bio
Lionel Ragot is professor of economics at the University of Paris Nanterre and scientific advisor at CEPII. He is responsible for the EconomiX laboratory’s Transitions, Environment, Energy, Institutions and Territories axis and directs the master of Economics of the Environment, Energy and Transport (EEET). He is also scientific secretary of section 37 of the National Committee for Scientific Research and member of the Steering Committee of the French Association of Economic Sciences. He obtained his PhD in economics at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. After graduating from universities in economic sciences, he was a professor at the University of Lille 1 and at the University of Evry-Val-d'Essonne. Before joining CEPII, he was a scientific advisor to the Council for Economic Analysis. His research focuses on the long-term dynamics of economies and structural policies. In addition to its work on sustainable growth, it focuses on two other themes related to long-term structural changes: population ageing and international migration.
