Philippe Trainar is a renowned economist and expert in the field of insurance and reinsurance as well as risk analysis. He is also director of the SCOR Foundation for Science and sits on the boards of several leading institutions, including the SCOR Foundation for Science, Toulouse School of Economics and Humensis. In addition, he plays a key role as a member of the Scientific Committee of the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Réglementation and the Scientific Council of the Maurice Allais Foundation. His rich professional background includes high-level positions such as senior advisor to the CEO of SCOR, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Economist, making him a major player in the insurance industry. His previous experiences include key roles within the French Federation of Insurance Companies, as well as positions in the French government and the Embassy of France in Germany. He also held academic positions, teaching at the ENA, the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Paris-Dauphine, the Ecole Nationale d'Assurance, and the IEP Paris. He was also a full professor of the chair assurance at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. Philippe Trainar is a graduate of the ENA. His recent research has focused on topics such as diversifiable risk remuneration, the evolution of the reinsurance cycle and the links between reinsurance, natural disasters and climate change.
