
Bio
Dr Wang Huiyao is the Founder and President of the Center for China and Globalization (CCG), a leading Chinese non-governmental think tank. His expertise spans China and globalisation, international relations with a focus on US–China relations, global trade and investment, amongst others.
Dr Wang is a former Counselor to the State Council of China (China’s Cabinet), appointed by the Premier of China. He currently serves as the Director General of the Alliance of Global Talent Organisation; Director of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and Director of the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, both under China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; former Vice Chairman of China Public Relations Association; Standing Director of China Institute of International Economic Relations under PBOC and Distinguished Professor of China Foreign Affairs University; amongst other senior positions.
Widely recognised as a leading think tank voice and candid interlocutor on China’s domestic and foreign policy, Dr Wang has been invited by prominent global think tanks and speaking at major international fora. He is the author and editor of more than 100 books, including the Springer Nature’s China and Globalization Book Series.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, and pursued MBA and PhD studies at the University of Windsor, the University of Western Ontario, and the University of Manchester, where he obtained a PhD in International Management.
