Andrés MALAMUD

Bio


Andrés Malamud (PhD European University Institute, 2003) is a senior research fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He was a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg) and the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a recurring visiting professor at universities in Argentina, Brazil, Italy, and Spain.

Malamud’s research interests include regional integration, foreign policy, democracy and political institutions, EU Studies, and Latin American politics.

His work has been published in such journals as Political Studies, Social Science Quarterly, Regional & Federal Studies, Latin American Research Review, Latin American Politics and Society, Latin American Perspectives, Cambridge Review of International Affairs, Journal of European Integration, and European Political Science. Malamud served in the executive committees of the Latin American Political Science Association (ALACIP) and Portuguese Political Science Association (APCP), as well as official representative to the European Consortium for Political Research (ECPR).

Malamud has worked as a consultant for the Inter-American Dialogue and for the European Parliament, and has been a member of the advisory boards of the EU-LAC Foundation, Sciences Po’s OPALC, and CAF’s European academic network. He contributes regular political comment to newspapers in Latin America and Europe.
