Latin America : political turmoil, economic upheavals ?

Overview
The “pink tide” of the early 21st century, which had shifted Latin America to the left, is no more. Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Ecuador… 2025 saw Latin America swing to the right through various presidential and legislative elections.
This political and ideological shift appears to stem from successive regional and international crises since the mid-2010s, and points toward a return to economic liberalism as well as a notable rapprochement with the United States.
Rich in natural resources, a hub of socio-economic experimentation but also marked by persistent inequalities and violence, and characterized by economic instability, Latin America is still searching for its path in today’s globalized economy.
Will these changes lead to genuine systemic transformations? Will they help curb runaway inflation, currency volatility, and improve the living conditions of Latin American populations?
