Bio
Sophie Fay is a general journalist in Le Monde's economics department, responsible for following business news in general and the automotive sector in particular. She is a regular contributor to On n'arrête pas l'Eco on France Inter and C'est dans l'air on France 5. Between August 2022 and April 2025, she covered topics relating to mobility and transport. She had previously worked at Le Monde between 1996 and 2005, covering financial issues and economic policy. For 14 years, before returning to Le Monde, she was a journalist at Le Nouvel Obs, with, in particular, a weekly economic column, alternating with economist Daniel Cohen. In parallel, between August 2019 and June 2022, she wrote a daily column for Mathilde Munos' 5/7 on France Inter. Sophie Fay is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and the London School of Economics and Political Science (finance).
