Bio
Pierre-Yves Geoffard currently holds the position of Professor of Economics at PSE-Ecole d'Économie de Paris and is Director of Research at the CNRS. He is also Director of Studies at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) and Research Fellow at the CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research). He is currently co-directing a multi-disciplinary project on social inequalities in health through the prism of gender, funded by the European Research Council.
Among his many responsibilities, Pierre-Yves Geoffard has held several positions within PSE, notably as Director of the UMR PjSE (Paris-Jourdan Sciences Économiques), Director of the master and doctoral program APE (Analyse et Politique Economiques), and Director of PSE-Paris School of Economics.
He was also a member of the National AIDS Council, the National Digital Council in 2017, and is currently a member of the Scientific Council of the IRDES (Institute for Research and Documentation on Health Economics), and the National Institute of Health Data. He was a columnist at Libération for the "economic" section from 2004 to 2022.
Pierre-Yves Geoffard holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics and Economics from the University of Paris-Dauphine. He also has two DEAs, one in Economic Analysis and Policy from the EHESS and the other in Applied Mathematics to Economics from Paris-Dauphine University. He is also a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure.
