Biographie


Valeria Moy General Director, IMCO Valeria Moy is the General Director of IMCO (Mexican Institute for Competitiveness), a think tank focused on economic and social issues. IMCO’s research focuses on competitiveness indices, energy, trade, women’s participation in the economy, and education. She is an economist from ITAM and holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics. Academically, she has been teaching macroeconomics at ITAM since 2001. She was a senior researcher at Harvard Business School and previously led a think tank focused on economic variables. Currently, she writes weekly opinion pieces for El Universal and El País, two of the major newspapers in Mexico and Latin America, and is a frequent analyst on various media outlets. She serves as an independent board member of BBVA, Mexico’s largest bank, and participates in all the financial group’s boards. Additionally, she serves on the Advisory Board of Laureate Education Group, which owns a large network of universities in Mexico and Peru. She is the economic anchor for the radio show Así las Cosas con Loret on W Radio, where she analyzes the economic agenda daily. Her weekly podcast, Peras y Manzanas, in which she discusses economic issues in an accessible manner, is one of the most listened-to podcasts in the country. Forbes has named her one of the 100 most powerful women in Mexico, and she is considered one of the 300 Leaders.
