Head, R&D France - Sanofi
Jacques Volckmann, is a Doctor in Pharmacy, holds a master in microbiology from the Lyon Industrial Pharmaceutical Institute (IPIL) and a master in fundamental virology from the Lyon I University. He is also graduated from the CEDEP/INSEAD in Business Administration.
He has a developed experience in several domains such as Production, Analytic Sciences, Quality, Product Development, mostly in Biologic Products (hormones, vaccines…).
From 2007 to 2009, he was appointed as the R&D Director of the Sanofi Pasteur sites based in France. From 2010 to 2014, he was appointed as the Europe New Vaccines Project Director at Sanofi Pasteur, in charge of overseeing development of projects for new vaccines. From 2014 to end 2017, he held various positions as Director of the Global R&D Sites, Hubs and Scientific Support Units at Sanofi Pasteur. Since April 2018, Jacques is appointed as Head of R&D France with a direct oversight on the sanofi R&D Sites in France.
He is the president of the ‘Biopark by Sanofi’ in Toulouse. He is the President of the Board of the Pharmaceutical and Biologics Institute of Sciences in Lyon (ISPB/ Faculté de Pharmacie de Lyon), member of the board of the Bioaster Institute in Lyon (IRT), and a member of the board of the Ksilink Research Institute in Strasbourg.
