Bernard GAINNIER

Chairman & Territory Senior Partner - PwC France & Francophone Africa

Chairman of PwC France and Francophone Africa, Bernard Gainnier began his career with PwC in 1985 in Paris. In 1990, he transferred to the Marseille office, where he was made Partner in 1995. Two years later, he moved to the Shanghai office, working with such international clients as Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Danone, L’Oréal and Novartis. In 2000, he relocated to San José, California, where he developed specialised expertise in the technology and software sector.

In 2007, Bernard became a member of the PwC France Executive Committee. He was also in charge of Mid-Tier business development and was later named Lead Partner for marketing & communication and cross-industry programmes.

Bernard has earned a Masters in Law from the University of Aix-Marseille, a Master of Advanced Studies (DESS) in business law and a Master of Advanced Studies (DESS) in internal auditing. He is also certified as a Chartered Accountant in France and a CPA in the United States, and is a member of the Strategy Board of the Aix-Marseille University Alumni Association.
