Michael HORRIGAN

Associate Commissioner for Employment and Unemployment - U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

Dr. Michael Horrigan has worked at the Bureau of Labor Statistics since 1986, becoming a member of the Senior Executive Service in 2001.  From 2007 to August 2014, he served as Associate Commissioner in the Office of Prices and Living Conditions (OPLC).  This office publishes consumer, producer and import/export price indexes as well as estimates of consumption expenditures.  In August 2014, Mike became Associate Commissioner for the Office of Employment and Unemployment Statistics.  In his current position, he oversees 10 programs, including the two that produce the national unemployment rate and the monthly job growth figures.
