
Bio
Trisha Shetty is an Indian human rights lawyer and the founder of SheSays, a youth-led NGO that addresses GBV through legislative reforms. SheSays launched the largest global social media campaign, titled #lahukalagaan successfully lobbying the Indian Government to eradicate tax on tampons. She serves as the President of the Paris Peace Forum Steering Committee. She was part of the high-level advisory committee that helped draft Olof Palme’s Independent Commission on Disarmament and Security Issues, Common Security report. Alongside Michelle Bachelet, Julia Gillard, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Trisha served as part of the high-level delegation called Beijing+25 launched by Georgetown Institute, The Rockefeller Foundation and Hillary Clinton, to accelerate progress for women. She was part of the ANDAM jury, a French fashion award established as a joint venture between the French Ministry of Culture and the DEFI Mode fashion organisation. Trisha was an Obama Scholar at Columbia University, was named Vogue’s Woman of the Year, recognized under Forbes 30 under 30 and is a TED speaker.
