Bio
Philippe Mauguin began his career as a researcher at the Ecole des Mines de Paris.
He was then appointed head of the agri-food sector at the French Ministry of Research, then adviser to the Minister of Research. He joined ADEME as director of agriculture and bioenergies and director of the Agriculture for Chemistry and Energy scientific interest group. He then served as advisor to the Prime Minister on agriculture and food, Director General of INAO, Director of Maritime Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Chief of Staff to the Minister of Agriculture.
He became CEO of INRA in July 2016 and then CEO of INRAE (Institut national de recherche pour l'agriculture, l'alimentation et l'environnement), the result of the merger of INRA and Irstea. He was reappointed to head INRAE in October 2024 for a 4-year term.
