Naima Korchi, is an international lawyer, Graduated from the French Universities of Panthéon Assas, Panthéon-Sorbonne and the International Institute for International Studies. She started her career with the United Nations , first with UNESCO at HQ and then in the Regional Office in Rabat: After UNESCO, she continued her work with the United Nations in Morocco by joining the Office of UNHCR in Laayoune. From her work in the Refugee Agency, she was aware on the situation of women impacted by conflict as victims but also as mediators. Since, she focused her work on women, and particularly on situation of women in conflicts. After years as UN staff, she decided to become an International Consultant to have the opportunity to share her expertise with several International Organizations, working in the Agenda Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Her experience on WPS, allowed her to become a member of the African Union Network of women mediators for conflict prevention, Femwise Africa. She was deployed by African Union in several countries, and on a long term in Sudan and Madagascar as Senior Dialogue and Mediation Officer. Naima Korchi , founded in Dakhla in 2014, Africa Women’s Forum, a panafrican network to contribute to South-South cooperation including more women and for a better visibility of the leadership of women in Africa. AWF, opened offices in other African countries. As a CSO’s activist and expert on wps, she participates to key international conferences to advocate for women’s rights.
