Bio


Mario Loyola is the Senior Fellow in Law, Economics, and Technology at The Heritage Foundation and Director of the Environmental Finance and Risk Management program at Florida International University, where he teaches environmental and administrative law. He served in the Trump Administration as Associate Director for Regulatory Reform at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, helping to streamline and modernize the permitting and environmental assessment of major infrastructure, and was part of U.S. delegations for the USMCA negotiations and United Nations biodiversity conferences. Earlier, he served in the Bush Administration at the Pentagon and as Foreign and Defense Counsel to the U.S. Senate Republican Policy Committee. Loyola began his career as a finance, mergers, and acquisitions attorney and later reported from conflict zones in the Middle East, including Iraq, Lebanon, and Israel. He has contributed extensively to publications including The Wall Street Journal, National Review, and The Atlantic.
