Overview
In 2025, artificial intelligence (AI) has established itself as a major driver of economic transformation, disrupting traditional modes of production, organization, and labor. While some sectors are experiencing significant productivity gains thanks to automation and predictive analytics, others are struggling to harness these benefits due to inadequate infrastructure, unclear strategies, or a lack of appropriate skills. This raises key questions about the extent of AI’s impact on productivity: In what ways does AI represent a new engine of growth? How substantial are the productivity gains that can be expected from this new technological revolution? What policies and institutions can help unlock AI’s growth potential—or, conversely, hinder it? And will these productivity gains come at the expense of employment or job satisfaction?
